GEO — Generative Engine Optimization
Get cited inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews.
- Timeline
- First citations in ~6 weeks
- Model
- Quarterly retainer
Generative Engine Optimization is the practice of structuring content so AI assistants — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews — cite your brand inside their answers. Aksh rebuilds pages around direct 40 to 80 word answers, verifiable statistics, entity-consistent schema, and quotable expert commentary, then measures citation share engine by engine. Most clients earn their first assistant citations within six weeks of the initial content release.

GEO Marketing by the numbers
Every figure below is measured across completed engagements and carries its source. Replace any you cannot defend in a sales call.
Outcomes
What you actually end up with
Stated as results, not activities. An activity list describes what an agency does; an outcome list describes what changes for you.
- Named citations inside AI assistant answers for your category questions
- Content restructured into extractable, self-contained answer blocks
- A verifiable statistics library that gives models something worth quoting
- Consistent entity data across your site, Wikipedia-class sources, and directories
- Monthly citation-share tracking across four generative engines
Process
How we deliver GEO Marketing
What is the GEO Marketing process?
Aksh Intelligence delivers GEO — Generative Engine Optimization in 4 stages: Citation baseline (Week 1–2), Answer architecture (Week 3–6), Fact and entity layer (Week 5–10), Citation tracking (Monthly). Each stage closes with a named deliverable you review before the next one starts, and the schedule is fixed at the end of discovery rather than estimated at the proposal stage. Scope changes are quoted in writing before any additional work begins.
- Week 1–2
Citation baseline
We prompt every major assistant with the 60 to 100 questions your buyers actually ask, and record who gets cited today. That baseline is the scoreboard for the whole engagement.
- Week 3–6
Answer architecture
Existing pages get restructured into question-led sections, each opening with a self-contained 40 to 80 word answer that reads correctly with zero surrounding context.
- Week 5–10
Fact and entity layer
We build a sourced statistics library, publish original data where you have it, and align your entity across schema, directories, and third-party mentions so models resolve you to one organisation.
- Monthly
Citation tracking
Monthly re-prompting of the same question set, reported as citation share by engine, plus a content plan targeting the questions where a competitor still owns the answer.

Answers
GEO Marketing questions
Each answer is written to be correct when read on its own — the requirement for snippet extraction and AI citation alike.
What is Generative Engine Optimization?
Generative Engine Optimization is the practice of structuring content so that AI assistants cite your brand when answering questions in your category. Unlike SEO, which competes for a ranked position, GEO competes for inclusion inside a single synthesised answer — which rewards extractable phrasing, verifiable facts, and clear entity signals over keyword placement.
How is GEO different from SEO?
SEO earns a position in a list of ten links where the user chooses. GEO earns a mention inside one generated answer where the model chooses. The technical foundation overlaps, but GEO weights self-contained answer passages, statistics with attribution, and consistent entity data far more heavily than backlinks or keyword density.
Can you actually influence what ChatGPT says?
Not directly, and any agency claiming otherwise is overselling. What you can influence is whether your content is retrievable, quotable, and unambiguous when a model searches the live web. Assistants increasingly ground answers in real-time retrieval, and content structured for extraction wins those citations measurably more often.
How do you measure GEO results?
We run a fixed set of 60 to 100 buyer questions against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, and Google AI Overviews every month, and report citation share as the percentage of those answers that mention you by name. We pair that with referrer-based session data from assistant traffic.
What does GEO cost?
GEO runs as a quarterly retainer covering the citation baseline, answer-architecture work, the statistics library, and monthly tracking. Clients already on an SEO retainer add it at a reduced rate, because the technical foundation is shared and does not need building twice. Quoted after the baseline audit.
What is generative engine optimisation?
GEO is the practice of making your content more likely to be cited when an AI assistant synthesises an answer. It differs from SEO because there is no results page to rank on: the assistant reads sources, composes a response, and attributes some of them. Being readable and quotable determines whether you are one.
Does GEO actually work, or is it hype?
The mechanisms are real and the measurement is genuinely harder than SEO. Assistants retrieve and cite sources, and content structured for extraction is cited more often than content that is not. What deserves scepticism is anyone quoting precise citation-share guarantees, since visibility varies by assistant, by query and week to week.
How do you measure GEO performance?
By running a defined set of real buying-intent queries against each major assistant on a schedule and recording whether you are cited, what is quoted, and which competitor sources appear alongside. That produces a trend rather than a single number, which is the honest shape of the measurement.
What content changes make a page more citable?
Direct answers placed immediately under the heading they answer, self-contained passages that make sense lifted out of context, specific claims with sources rather than general assertions, and structure that maps to the question a user actually asked. Long preambles before the answer are the most common reason a page is passed over.
Do we need to allow AI crawlers?
If you want to be cited, yes — blocking them guarantees invisibility in that surface. The decision is a genuine trade-off between attribution and traffic, since an assistant answering from your content may satisfy the user without a click. It should be made deliberately per crawler rather than by default.
Can GEO work without good technical SEO?
Rarely. Assistants retrieve from indexes and from live fetches, both of which depend on your pages being crawlable, fast and correctly rendered. GEO is largely a content and structure discipline layered on a technical foundation, and where that foundation is broken the content work has nothing to stand on.
